Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and add sugar. Add beaten egg, molasses and dry ingredients which have been sifted together.
    Add hot water.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
