French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter
    6 large onions, thinly sliced (about 6 c.)
    3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed beef broth
    3 c. water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp. salt
    5 slices French bread (1 inch thick)
    3/4 lb. Swiss or Provolone cheese, thinly sliced
Preparation
    About 45 minutes before serving, saute onions in butter until transparent
    and
    golden
    brown.
    Stir
    in\tbeef
    broth, water, sugar,
    Worcestershire
    sauce
    and salt over high heat. Heat to boil, then\treduce\tto
    low.
    Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Meanwhile,\ttoast bread under broiler until light brown on both sides.
    Arrange cheese slices on toast and broil until cheese is melted.
    To serve, place cheese topped bread in each bowl and pour soup on top.
