Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 onions, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    3 Tbsp. fat
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    2 c. cooked tomatoes or 1 lb. fresh tomatoes
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0. Saute onions and green pepper in fat in heavy frying pan. Add beef and stir until brown and crumbly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Cover and bake 1 hour. Remove cover for the last 15 minutes.
