Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugars and cream thoroughly.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
    Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to cream mixture; shape into rolls (1 1/2-inch round).
    Wrap in wax paper and chill for 3 or 4 hours or overnight.
    Cut into 1/8-inch slices and bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
