Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced squash
    6 medium white onions, sliced
    2 bell peppers, sliced
    1/3 c. pickling salt
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    5 c. cider vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Mix squash, onion and pepper.
    Cover with salt, mix well and let stand 1 hour.
    Drain.
    Mix rest of ingredients.
    Pour over squash mixture.
    Bring to a boil.
    Fill hot jars to 1/2-inch from top.
    Adjust lids and process in hot water bath for 5 minutes.
