Tangy Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. ribs (pork or beef)
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (No. 2 1/2) can sauerkraut
    2 medium carrots, sliced
    1 1/2 c. tomato juice
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 unpared chopped apple
Preparation
    Season meat with salt and pepper.
    Combine all other ingredients and place in 5-quart Dutch oven.
    Place ribs, meaty side up, atop mixture.
    Bake, covered, for 3 hours at 350\u00b0.
    Baste meat with juice several times during the last hour of cooking.
