Fig Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 c. mashed figs (I peel off the stem ends)
    6 c. sugar
    juice of 1 lemon (no rind)
Preparation
    Put in enamel roaster.
    Mix with wooden spoon.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours.
    Stir every 30 minutes with wooden spoon. Do not cover the roaster.
