Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside. Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk, mixing well. Add yeast mixture; mix until dough forms a ball.
Cover and chill overnight.
