Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift flour; measure, then re-sift with baking powder, soda and salt.
    Add shortening and butter; mix into dry ingredients until coarse consistency.
    Pour in buttermilk.
    Stir together good. Knead with small amount of flour.
    Pinch into small balls and pat to roundness.
    Bake on ungreased baking sheet in preheated oven at about 450\u00b0 for about 12 to 15 minutes.
    Yields 1 1/2 to 2 dozen small biscuits.
