Butter Cookies (Rolled) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. butter
    pinch of salt
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
    Cut in the butter as for pie crust.
    Beat eggs.
    Add sugar and vanilla. Add them to the flour mixture.
    Blend well.
    Let dough stand a short time before rolling out.
    Sugar may be sprinkled over the top, if desired.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
