Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers, sliced thin
    1/3 c. canning salt
    4 onions, sliced
    4 green peppers, sliced
    1 red pepper (sweet), sliced
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1-1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Mix canning salt with sliced cucumbers, cover with ice and let stand 3 hours. Mix sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed, bring to a boil. Drain cucumbers well; add onions and peppers to vinegar mixture. Heat to boiling. Fill jars and seal.
