Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick cooking oats
    1/2 c. shortening or butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let stand for 20 minutes. Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and beat.
    Add dry ingredients; beat for 2 minutes.
    Stir in oatmeal.
    Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
