Manicotti Genovese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. basil leaves, crushed
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 can golden mushroom soup
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1 (5 oz.) can chunk chicken
    2 c. (16 oz.) cottage cheese
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
    8 manicotti macaroni, cooked and drained
    3 slices Provolone cheese, cut in halves
Preparation
    Cook onion with garlic and basil in butter until tender.
    Add soup, tomato sauce and water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add chicken.
