Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef
    1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1 large onion, sliced
    5 medium potatoes, cubed
    1 Tbsp. oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut beef into small cubes.
    Heat oil on medium heat.
    Brown beef.
    Add water, salt and pepper; cover and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
    After meat is tender, add remaining vegetables and continue cooking until vegetables are tender.
    Mix butter and flour; stir into hot liquid.
    Cook until thickened.
