Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 cucumbers or more, sliced thin
    3 onions, sliced thin
    1/4 c. salt (plain, not iodized)
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers, onions and salt with water; let stand 2 hours. Drain and add, sugar, vinegar, 1 cup water, mustard and celery seed, ginger and turmeric.
    Cook until tender (do not overcook). Pour in jars and seal immediately.
