Stove Top Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugars and water in large skillet; let boil 5 minutes to make syrup.
    Add margarine, salt and vanilla.
    Stir.
    Add potatoes; sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
    Put lid on skillet; turn to medium heat and cook for 20 minutes or until tender. While the potatoes are cooking, spoon some of the syrup over them so they won't dry out.
