Old Fashioned Custard Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

pastry for 9-inch pie (one crust pie)
3 large eggs or 6 egg yolks (I always use 6 egg yolks)
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (if desired)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Beat eggs or egg yolks slightly with rotary beater.
Beat in remaining ingredients.
Pour into pastry lined pie pan.
Bake for about 40 minutes, or until silver knife inserted into side of filling comes out clean (center is soft but will set later).
Bake in a hot oven for the first 15 minutes; finish in a 350\u00b0 oven for remaining time.
