Ingredients

3/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger
Preparation
-
Cream shortening, sugar, molasses and egg together.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into mixture.
Roll into balls the size of a walnut.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10 to 12 minutes.
While still hot, sprinkle with sugar.
