Schamm Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 Tbsp. white vinegar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Beat egg whites with salt, baking powder and cream of tartar for 10 minutes, until stiff, but not dry.
    Add sugar gradually; add vinegar and beat 10 minutes more.
    Add vanilla and pour into 9 x 13-inch or 2 round 8-inch pans that have greased bottoms, not sides.
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Stick in Schamm Torte mixture once oven has been preheated for 20 minutes.
    Turn off oven after pan has been in it 5 minutes exactly.
    Leave in oven 5 hours or overnight.
    Spread with Cool Whip, then a layer of strawberries, raspberries or bananas.
    Top with more Cool Whip.
