Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 1/4 oz. crushed vanilla wafers
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    1 (9 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
    2 cans cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Mix vanilla wafer crumbs and butter.
    Pour 1/2 of crumbs into bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Whip Cool Whip and cream cheese with sugar.
    Put 1/2 of this on top of buttered crumbs.
    Pour pie filling over this.
    Add other half of Cool Whip and cream cheese. Top with remaining crumbs.
    Cool until ready to serve.
