Cranberry Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
    1 lb. whole cranberry sauce or cranorange
    1 tsp. shredded lemon peel
    1/4 c. finely chopped nuts for topping
Preparation
    Mix flour, oats, sugar, lemon peel and soda.
    Reserve one cup of mixture for topping.
    Add butter and mix thoroughly.
    Place in ungreased pan in oven preheated to 350\u00b0.
    Bake 20 minutes.
    Remove from oven and carefully spread sauce on baked crust.
    Stir nuts into reserved oat-flour mix and pat lightly into sauce.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes more, until top is golden.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Makes 24.
    Freezes well.
