Eggless, Milkless, Butterless Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. packed brown sugar
    4 Tbsp. lard or shortening
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    2 c. water
    2 c. raisins
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, lard and raisins. Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
    Cool.
    Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves.
    Stir into cooled raisin mixture.
    Mix well.
    Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes or until cake tests done with a wooden pick.
    Yields 16 servings.
