Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

1 (16 oz.) pkg. raisins
2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
pinch of salt
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. boiling water
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
Preparation

Bring washed raisins, water and shortening to a boil. Cover and boil 15 minutes or until moisture is gone. Let cool and add sugar, cold water, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice. Add pinch of salt. Dissolve soda in boiling water. Add flour to make runny batter; add egg. Mix good and bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
