Chocolate Cake With Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream Crisco and brown sugar in a large bowl.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
Mix in vanilla extract and melted chocolate until blended.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Add with buttermilk alternately until well blended.
Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Cool completely and frost.
