Dulco De Nuez - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk, butter, corn syrup and soda in large, heavy saucepan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Lower heat and add pecans. Cook and stir until mixture reaches soft ball stage (328\u00b0). Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Beat with a wooden spoon until mixture begins to thicken.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. When cool, store in airtight container.
