Julia'S Dessert - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. walnuts
4 eggs, separated
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. crushed pineapple
fruit of your choice
whipped cream
cherries for garnish
Preparation

Mix all ingredients together, adding egg whites last.
Spread mixture about 1/2-inch thick in 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
Cool.
On the day dessert is served, break 1/2 of cake into small pieces.
Arrange on cake plate.
Top this with fruits as desired (bananas, peaches, fruit for salad, etc.)
Break remainder of cake over top.
Pour over all a can of crushed pineapple.
Spread with whipped cream and garnish with cherries.
