Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. mashed ripe bananas
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2/3 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Stir shortening to soften.
Stir in dry ingredients.
Add bananas and half the buttermilk.
Mix until all flour is dampened. Beat vigorously two minutes.
Add remaining buttermilk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes longer.
Fold in nuts.
Bake in 2 paper-lined 9 x 1 1/2-inch round pans at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes in pans.
Remove.
