1-2-3-4 Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. sifted cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (Crisco)
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 c. milk

Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream shortening (I use Crisco) with sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
Add eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately, in small amounts, beating well after each addition.
Pour into greased pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Makes 1 large tube cake or 3 (9-inch) layers.
