Lemon Crackers - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sweet milk, warmed slightly
1 oz. baking ammonia
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. oil of lemon
approximately 3 or 4 c. flour (enough to make a stiff dough)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Dissolve ammonia in milk. Add sugar mixture. Add oil of lemon. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.
Knead well. Roll to approximately 1/8-inch thick and cut into squares.
Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400\u00b0 until lightly browned on bottom (watch closely). Recipe makes a large batch.
