Cheddar Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 carrot
    1 stalk celery
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1/3 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    2 c. chicken broth
    8 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cook vegetables in boiling water until tender; do not drain. Melt butter.
    Add flour; cook about 2 minutes.
    Add milk and broth.
    Cook until thick.
    Add cheese; stir to melt.
    Add vegetables in water.
    Stir until smooth.
