Oatmeal Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. quick cooking oats
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2/3 c. melted butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (4 oz.) pkg. Baker's German's sweet chocolate, broken into pieces or chocolate chips
    1/3 c. light corn syrup or honey
    1/4 c. chunky peanut butter
Preparation
    Combine oats, brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, peanut butter and vanilla, mixing well.
    Press into bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
    Remove from oven and immediately place chocolate pieces on top.
    Let stand 5 minutes or until chocolate is softened, then spread evenly over entire surface.
    Cut into bars while still warm.
    Cool.
    Makes 24 cookies.
