Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake - cooking recipe

1 (12 oz.) box vanilla wafers
8 Tbsp. melted butter
1 (14 oz.) bag Kraft caramels
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 c. chopped pecans
2 eggs
2 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
Preparation

Combine crumbs and oleo.
Press into bottom and sides of pan (9-inch spring-form pan).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Add pecans on top of crumbs.
In 1 1/2-quart saucepan, melt caramels with milk over low heat.
Combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla, mixing at medium speed until well blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Blend in chocolate.
Pour over pecans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
Loosen cake from rim of pan.
Cool before removing rim of pan.
Chill.
