Ingredients

3 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. maple syrup
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. nuts, chopped
3/4 c. grated coconut
1/4 c. boiling water
Preparation

Cream butter and syrup and beat well.
Blend in dates, nuts and coconut; add dry ingredients.
Blend in boiling water.
Chill 1 to 2 hours in refrigerator.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets and bake about 12 minutes or until light brown. Bake at 350\u00b0.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
