Jellied Waldorf Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. Jell-O brand lemon gelatin
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water
    3/4 c. cold water
    2 tsp. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. diced unpeeled red apples
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/4 c. chopped walnuts
    1/4 c. mayonnaise (optional)
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water.
    Add cold water and vinegar.
    Chill until thickened.
    Fold in apples, celery, nuts and mayonnaise.
    Pour into a 4 cup mold or individual molds.
    Chill until firm, about 3 hours.
    Unmold.
    Serve with crisp greens and mayonnaise, if desired.
    Makes about 3 cups or 6 servings.
