Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. rice (uncooked)
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 lb. sausage
salt and pepper to taste
1 large onion, chopped
1 average size head cabbage, cored
1 can whole tomatoes or tomato soup
1 clove garlic (optional)
Preparation

Separate leaves of cabbage by steaming in a large pot with water covering half the cabbage.
Brown onion and garlic.
Mix hamburger, sausage, salt, pepper and rice until well blended.
Add browned mixture and mix until blended.
Take a few spoonfuls of meat mixture and put in cabbage leaves to wrap.
Proceed until all of the meat mixture is used.
Place any remaining cabbage leaves on the bottom of the pot in the water where the cabbage was steamed.
Put cabbage rolls in layers on top of leaves. Pour tomatoes or soup on top.
Heat until boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer on low for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
