Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. margarine (2 sticks; room temperature)
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring
2 eggs
Preparation

Mix the sugar, eggs and flavoring.
Alternate with flour and melted margarine.
It will be soft dough.
Chill about 1 hour or until firm.
On wax paper, sprinkle flour.
Use about 1/3 of the batter.
Sprinkle with flour; knead, roll out and cut with cookie cutter.
Bake on cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes for soft cookies, 15 minutes for brittle cookies.
They burn easily (be careful!).
