Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. white corn syrup
    1/4 stick butter (margarine)
    1-inch paraffin canning wax
    2 c. Spanish peanuts
    pinch of salt (optional)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and paraffin; bring to a boil.
    Add peanuts and cook on medium heat until golden brown (or approximately 20 minutes).\tStir well.
    Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon soda.
    Stir well and spread on aluminum foil while foaming.
    Let cool thoroughly.
    Break up and store in airtight container.
