Lasagne Italiano - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Italian sausage or hamburger
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 clove of garlic, crushed
    1 16 oz. can, whole tomatoes
    1 15 oz. can, tomato sauce
    2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    9 uncooked lasagne noodles
    1 16 oz. carton of ricotta or creamed cottage cheese
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
    1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
    2 cups shredded Mozzarella Cheese, about 8 oz.
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
Preparation
    Cook meat, onion and garlic in skillet til brown.
    Drain.
    Add tomatoes with liquid, tomato sauce, parsley, sugar, basil, 1/2 tsp. salt, stirring occasionally.
    Lower heat.
    Simmer uncovered til mixture thickens, about 1 hour.
    Cook noodles.
    Save 1/2 cup of sauce mixture.
    Mix Ricotta Cheese, 1/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese, 1 Tbsp. parsley, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and the oregano.
    Layer 1/3 each of the noodles, remaining sauce mix, Mozzarella Cheese and Ricotta Cheese mix in ungreased 9 X 13 X 2 pan.
    Repeat twice.
    Spoon reserved sauce mix on top, sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese. Cook uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
    Makes up to 10 servings.
