Sweet And Sour Cabbage(Low-Fat) - cooking recipe

1 onion
1/2 head red cabbage (about 3 1/2 c. shredded)
2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Slice onion.
Shed the cabbage.
Heat oil in large frying pan over medium heat.
Cook the onion, stirring occasionally, until soft, about 5 minutes.
Add the cabbage, 1/2 cup water, vinegar, sugar, thyme, salt and pepper.
Cook the cabbage, covered, stirring occasionally, until soft, about 10 minutes.
Uncover the cabbage.
Raise the heat to high and cook until all the liquid evaporates, about 5 minutes.
