Seafood Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. bacon, diced
1 stick butter
1 small bag okra, sliced
1 bundle scallions (green onions), diced
3 medium onions, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
5 stalks celery, diced
2 small cans tomatoes
1 tsp. parsley
1 Tbsp. gumbo file
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 c. ketchup
salt and pepper to taste
4 c. chicken stock
1 whole chicken, cooked and diced
3 lb. boiled and shelled shrimp
2 lb. crab meat
Preparation

Fry bacon and okra in the butter with a little flour until brown.
Reduce heat and add scallions, onions, bell pepper, celery, tomatoes, parsley, gumbo file, sugar, ketchup, salt and pepper and chicken stock.
Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add chicken, shrimp and crab meat.
Simmer 15 minutes more.
Serve over rice.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
