Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium cucumbers
    5 medium onions, chopped
    1/4 c. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. curry powder
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers; peel onions and cut 1/4-inch thick.
    Put in layers.
    Sprinkle salt on each layer. Let stand for 2 to 3 hours. Drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
    Add cucumbers and onions; simmer for 10 minutes.
    Pack in hot jars and seal.
    Makes 4 pints.
