Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. (12 oz.) mini chips
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Melt shortening and add sugar.
    Cool slightly and add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
    Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips.
    Spread into greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cut into squares when almost cool.
