Grandma'S Carrot Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. carrots (shredded)
    2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. raisins
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking soda
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Boil carrots, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, sugar, salt and shortening for 20 minutes.
    Then add eggs, soda and water; mix well.
    Add nuts.
    Pour into fruit cake pan or deep pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until cake springs back.
    Wait 10 minutes before removing from pan.
