Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 pkg. lemon jello (3 oz.)
    1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.)
    1 c. sliced apples
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Combine pineapple and sugar; bring to boil and boil 3 minutes. Add jello; stir until dissolved.
    Add cream cheese; stir until mixture is thoroughly mixed.
    Cool.
    Add apples, nuts, celery and Cool Whip.
    Pour into 9-inch square dish.
    Chill until firm.
    Cut into squares and serve on lettuce leaves.
