Pan Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
1 c. warm water
1 c. milk
6 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
5 c. flour
1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation

Combine yeast and water.
Scald milk (using a double boiler). Add sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool.
Add 1 cup flour and mix well.
Add yeast mixture and egg.
Add enough flour to make soft dough.
Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth.
Place in greased bowl and grease top of dough.
Cover and place in warm place.
Let rise 1 1/2 hours; punch down.
Shape in balls and place in 2 greased square pans.
Let rise 30 minutes.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
Butter tops and serve.
Makes 40 rolls.
