Mother Jessie'S Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse corn meal.
    Add buttermilk. Mix well.
    With floured hands on floured surface, shape dough. Roll out to approximately 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut into circles with floured biscuit cutter.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for about 10 minutes or until light golden brown.
