Gyros(Greek Delight) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef or lamb
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    4 pita breads
    1/2 c. plain yogurt
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    2 garlic cloves
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 c. shredded lettuce
    1 Tbsp. fresh mint (optional)
    3/4 c. each: tomato and cucumber, chopped
Preparation
    Mix lamb, water, lemon juice, salt, cumin, oregano, pepper, garlic and onion.
    Shape into 4 thin patties.
    Cook patties in oil over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes, turning frequently, until done.
    Split each bread halfway around with knife and separate to form pocket.
    Place patty in each pocket.
    Top with shredded lettuce.
    Mix yogurt, mint and sugar; stir in cucumber.
    Spoon onto lettuce and top with tomato.
