Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 small can coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream margarine, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks; mix well.
Sift flour, soda and baking powder together.
Add to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Add vanilla, coconut and nuts.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 (9-inch) greased and floured cake pans.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
