Empanadas(Mexican Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter or margarine
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    2 c. flour
    1 (8 oz.) jar favorite jelly preserves
    1 c. powdered sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter, cream cheese and flour together.
    Cut flour in with a fork.
    Roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness, using a floured rolling pin.
    Use mouth of a 16-ounce drinking cup to cut circles in dough.
    Place 1/2 to 1 tablespoon jelly preserves in center of each circle.
    Fold in half and seal edges with a fork.
