Pasta With Peas, Prosciutto And Parmesan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 or 2 small onions
    1/4 lb. Prosciutto, cut into strips
    3/4 c. grated cheese
    salt and pepper
    1 1/2 c. heavy cream
    1 Tbsp. basil
    3 c. shelled peas
    1 lb. fettucine
Preparation
    Melt butter in medium saucepan.
    Add onions and saute over low heat 5 minutes.
    Stir in cream, basil and Prosciutto.
    Cook until thickened to a good coating consistency 15 minutes.
    Add peas; cook 3 to 4 minutes or just until peas turn bright green.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese.
    Pour over hot drained pasta and toss gently.
